Girl Scout Cookies emerged from the Bay Area medical cannabis scene around 2010 and quickly became one of the most-cloned strains in commercial cultivation. The lineage produced Wedding Cake, Gelato, Runtz, and dozens of other modern hybrids. The original is still worth ordering when it's available.

The profile

Indica-leaning hybrid, around 60/40. THC commonly 20–25%. The aroma is sweet and earthy with a faint mint note that comes through on the exhale. The bud is dense and dark green with purple flecks.

The effect is heavier than modern descendants. Onset around 10 minutes, peak around 90 minutes, full duration 2 to 3 hours. The body component dominates by the 30-minute mark; cognitive engagement remains present but slowed.

Why it spawned descendants

GSC's genetics are unusually stable across phenotypes, which made it valuable for cross-breeding. Wedding Cake is GSC × Cherry Pie. Gelato is GSC variants × Sunset Sherbet. The list continues. Each descendant took GSC's structural qualities and modified one or two characteristics. The original sits underneath all of them.
