When you actually need to sleep
Tourists arriving in Pattaya from distant time zones often have one specific request: help me sleep. Cannabis can do this. It cannot do it perfectly, and there are caveats worth understanding before you decide.
What cannabis actually does for sleep
Heavy indica strains and high-CBD products are associated with faster sleep onset and longer total sleep time in clinical studies. The mechanism is not fully understood, but the effect is reproducible in many users.
What cannabis does less well: REM sleep maintenance. Heavy regular cannabis use tends to suppress REM sleep, which can produce subtle next-day cognitive effects and is part of why some long-term users report dependence-like sleep difficulties when they stop.
For travelers managing time-zone disruption — the most common Pattaya sleep complaint — cannabis is generally useful in the short term and not a long-term solution.
What to order
Night Move. The heaviest indica we stock. For the night when sleep is the absolute priority. Consume 60 to 90 minutes before bed.
OG Kush. Heavier than Wedding Cake, lighter than Night Move. Good middle ground for users who want sleep support without complete sedation.
Northern Lights. Classical pure indica when in stock. Dependable for sleep across most users.
CBD edibles or oil. For users who want sleep support without the THC high. Onset slower (45 to 90 minutes) but effects are gentler.
What to avoid
Sativa or sativa-leaning hybrids near bedtime. Even moderate sativa keeps you up for three to four hours. Save Sour Diesel Apple and Amnesia for the morning side of the day.
Alcohol on top of cannabis for sleep. The combination produces fragmented sleep architecture; you may fall asleep faster but you wake up more tired.
The dosing question
For sleep specifically, smaller doses often work better than larger ones. A quarter-gram pre-roll of an indica strain at 60 minutes before bed produces better sleep, for many users, than a full pre-roll. Overshooting the dose can produce paradoxical sleep difficulty — the high becomes the obstacle to sleep rather than the path to it.
If you are using cannabis for jet lag specifically, plan one or two nights of use, then taper. Continuous nightly cannabis for sleep across a long stay produces tolerance that reduces effectiveness.
What to tell us when ordering
Tell our staff "I need this for sleep, I have a busy day tomorrow." We will pick a strain and dose accordingly. The answer is rarely the highest-THC option. It is usually a heavier indica at moderate dose, with CBD if available, taken at the right time of evening.
Sleep recommendation tonight
Tell staff your sleep window. We'll suggest the right strain and dose.
